Healing Prayers
Heavenly Father, charge my body with Thy vitality, charge my mind with Thy spiritual power, charge my soul with Thy joy, Thine immortality … Yogananda
said: “Most men consider the course of events as natural and inevitable. They little know what radical changes are possible through prayer.”
As recounted by a senior SRF monastic, Daya Mata (former President of SRF/YSS) often stated that when she was not meditating or serving the work, she was praying for others. This is what the Guru (Yogananda) had taught them to do. He advised that the group’s prayers and the light from their healing services, circled the planet three times, burning up darkness and negation, holding back the forces of evil and helping to bring about healing and peace.
True prayer is an expression of the soul, an urge from the soul. It is a hunger for God that arises from within, expressing itself to Him ardently, silently. Vocalized prayers are wonderful only if the attention is on God, and if the words are a call to God out of the abundance of the soul’s desire for Him
Never think that God does not answer your prayers. Every word you have whispered to Him,
He has written on His heart, and some day, He will answer you.
Self-Realization monks and nuns pray daily for those who have requested prayers to help themselves and loved ones cope with the many fetters and travails of human bondage. Requests are kept strictly confidential.
